Stannol Solder-Ex desoldering braid

Product information "Stannol Solder-Ex desoldering braid"

Stannol Solder-Ex Desoldering Braid 2.5 mm – Clean Desoldering, Precise Repairs

Remove solder joints cleanly, desolder components gently, or repair PCBs: Stannol Solder-Ex desoldering braid in 2.5 mm width is a proven choice for workshop and hobby use. At blinkyparts it's available as 1.6 m braid on a spool – colour-coded blue for the 2.5 mm size.

Desoldering Without Thermal Shock

Unlike vacuum desoldering pumps, the joint is not hit with a sudden heat pulse. The braid is placed cold on the solder joint, then the soldering iron heats it from one side. Molten solder is drawn into the braid by capillary action – calmly and under control. That makes it suitable for desoldering SMD and through-hole parts and for PCB repair.

Fast Solder Uptake, Low Residue

Solder-Ex is copper braid coated with a halogen-free flux. The flux speeds up solder uptake and improves wetting. Residues are non-corrosive and suitable for repair and rework.

How to Use in a Few Steps

  1. Place the braid on the solder joint you want to remove
  2. Apply the soldering tip from the side and heat until the solder melts
  3. Solder flows into the braid – remove the braid
  4. Cut off the saturated section and continue with a fresh piece if needed

The 1.6 m spool is easy to hold, protects your hands from heat, and dispenses the braid neatly.
