Product information "BleepBot - The robot that speaks to you"
BleepBot – An Electronics Kit with Personality
The BleepBot is a unique DIY soldering kit that produces electronic sounds in a fascinating and seemingly spontaneous way – full of character and quirks.
At its core is an ATtiny25 microcontroller, brought to life by a clever trick: one of its pins is clipped before soldering, so it is not connected to ground (GND). As a result, this pin "floats" – meaning it becomes highly sensitive to electrical interference from its surroundings. This makes the microcontroller behave unpredictably, generating random sound impulses through its tiny speaker. It’s as if the BleepBot responds to nearby activity – or simply does its own thing.
It almost feels like it senses your presence – and speaks back to you. The result is an interactive sound experience somewhere between tech toy, sound art, and electro-poetry.
Perfect for:
- Beginners in soldering & creative makers
- Workshops, educational contexts & tech outreach
- Anyone who enjoys sound experiments and unusual electronics
Kit contents:
